Q&A with Russ:
Favorite concert memory? My wife took me to see Beck at Albright Knox right before our wedding. It rained most of the time but it was awesome. We were all just singing…and dancing…in the rain.
Best vacation spot? I’ve only been out of the country once (sorry Canada, I love you but I’m not counting you). We went to Costa Rica and were literally planning our next trip while we were there. The views were gorgeous and the people were amazing!
Favorite Bills Player ever? Ok, it’s clearly Josh Allen, but after him it’s a tie between Ryan Fitzpatrick and Fred Jackson. Those teams deserved at least ONE playoff appearance!
Go-to spots in WNY? I will go see anything at Artpark and the Transit Drive-In. They are both local gems and my summer isn’t complete without them.
Dogs or cats? While I do love all (most) animals, my motto has always been I love dogs more than people. Please don’t tell my cats. I already feel guilty that they heard me.
Any special talents? I love playing guitar and singing, and even break out the occasional gem of a parody song. I once wrote a song about pierogis that won the City of Buffalo $10,000! True story!
Coolest celebrity interactions? I feel like everyone in Buffalo has a Robby Takac story. That guy is the best. Besides him, I was lucky enough to meet Gwen Stefani early in her career and she was just the sweetest.
What are you watching? Pretty much anything Marvel puts out, I’m watching it. I am really enjoying “Shrinking” and “Abbott Elementary” as well. For classic shows, pick any episode of “Cheers” and you won’t be disappointed. The show holds up really well!
What do you collect? I’m kind of a vinyl snob, and currently have over 300. I have a Rolling Stones import from Japan that I’m really proud of, and a rare Counting Crows album that I had to hunt down.
Where have I seen you before? Oh my god, thank you for asking! While the back of my head has made many commercial appearances, you most likely saw me in a very popular string of William Mattar commercials. You may also see the FRONT of my head in the upcoming movie “Holiday Touchdown”!
